Cant get grid to play

I downloaded grid for pc (after two whole days, jesus this game is big) and i have an ati radeon x1600 and 700 some odd mb of ram. I know im under the req's but i cant even get it to load a race. All the menus work good, then it goes to load a race and i just hear the engines revving for 20 mins and a blank screen. Is there anyway to get it to play without having to pay $75 for 2 gigs of ram?

Try going to settings/options and changing all the options to low, maybe your graphics card can't handle all the options on medium/high settings. That's what it did when I first bought counterstrike and it fixed it good luck.

is it laggy/choppy? pretty sure your pc can't handle it.

i know i need more ram, but if i want to get this to play right. Id have to go buy a dvd drive, 2 gigs of ram, and the **** game. This is rediculous.
