ok, i have the system in my sig in my truck in my sig. except im running an eclipse cd2000 HU now. on my zx750.1 kicker amp the sub sonic filter is just an on/off. then i have me x over at 80 hz. my HU doesnt have any HPF or LPF. my box for my L7 is 2.5 cubies @ 35Hz. the higher notes on the bass line cant get loud. but, my lows are extremely loud. so i threw the sub on my friends amp. in his car and i could got the notes a hell of alot better. hes running an MA audio HK1000, 800wrms @ 2 ohms. someone offered me a free EQ board, now if that had a sub sonic filter on it should i throw it in and, turn the one off on my amp and, adjust accordingly? we played the same songs so i know when i throw it on my amp it cant hit them but, in his car it can. what could be the problem?

Dont compare frequency or output responses, even using the same sub, given two different vehicles. The different environments could drastically alter the sound characteristics.

Beyind that.. Im not sure. It sounds like you understand all the settings on your amp, and have them set okay. I guess you could try turning the LPF up, does it go higher than 80hz?

yea. but i mean like its a drastic difference. im not talking about sitting in his car and then just sitting in mine. i mean i put my ear to the my cone in my truck and, not much there at all. then, i put my ear up the the sone in his car, we had the trunk open and, the highs were alot louder at the cone. i dont expect them to be as loud in a single can truck then a car. but, i mean like, at the cone in my trucj its very quite.

Gotcha. Well then, its pretty much gotta be a problem in the signal path... meaning probably a crossover or EQ setting.

Sorry man, its pretty difficult troubleshooting a 'why does it sound like this' problem over the internet.

yea. this is what the kicker zx750.1 manual says for the sub sonic filter.

also, the manual says that it will do the correct rms rating at 14.4 volts...... im only getting 12.9. im way off. could this be a problem, haha? how do i increase my voltage? deep cycle battery? new HO alt?

1. SubsonicFilterSwitch The subsonic filter switch located on the end-panel utilizes an internal

12dB per octave at 25 Hz high-pass

crossover in the ON position. The

setting for this control is subjective;

the ON position is a good place to

start. Never change the subsonic filter

switch “ON/OFF” setting with the

audio system on!

o its a static 25hz filter with a 12db slope. Should work fine for its purpose, and not block any upper bass. What do you think you are you actually missing? Midbass?
Is it possible your friend's front stage has better midbass which you were mistaking for better sub performance in his car?

he doesnt have his mids on. they dont sound good.i was also right at the cone to. also, did you see the part were i edited my post about the voltage problem? were ill put out the correct rms at 14.4v and, im only getting 12.9. i also get a noise like the sub is bottoming out, could this be due to the fact its not getting proper power and, distorting?
