Can't decide?

^^^^ which would sound better the sx's or the DD I would probally keep it sealed for now and change it to ported later if I get a new car but not really planning on it. I'm not really looking to compete but just looking for the loudest DD possible with ok/decent sq, I listen to mostly rap and like low bass so thats why sq isn't really my main goal. I'm also adding possibly 3-4 IA 12" 187's sealed and Sonix fx 15". All setups are going be given 2200-2500 rms. So what you guy's think?

I know that the 4 187's sealed would hit real hard with 2200-2500rms. Great little budget drivers.

^ that shit would rip. SX's dont belong is sealed boxes, AT ALL. If your going sealed 4 12" 187's would be very loud, and sound pretty good.

How similar is the DD to a Death penalty/Sonix FX in sq and spl, do you think a extra 80 bucks is worth the DD over the other 2, but the the DD, 187's and the sx's are all about the same price.

ok, you are obviously choosing these JUST from what you have heard about them...so lets break it down....

heres the possiblity's

2 15" sx's sealed

1 15" 06 L7 ported

2 12" 05 L7 ported 2 12's will be louder than 1 15, so get rid of that

1 12" solo-x ported A close race with the 2 12's...but it would have to be an SPL setup...which might not sound to great...

1 15" DD 95xx ported pretty close with the 2 12's...but again..might have to be more of an SPL setup to get as loud....BUT closer than the SoloX as far as SQL, so we have 2 12" L7' and the DD 9515...Being a 15" it would be close.

2 12" type-r's ported

1 18" xxx-sealed.....

so its between the 2 12" type R's 2 12" L7's and 1 15" DD...Id say eliminate the DD just because for the price of 2 12" of either it will be about the same...if not cheaper, ( Depending on where you get them from). If you are buying online...you could find them for about the same price as the DD.. AND you have the cone area advantage...

anyone else disagree...go ahead and state why.

EDIT... and I just saw your from chi town...that stinks..I just threw away a dual 12" box for 2 type R's today...would have given it away for free...BUT this box wouldnt get as loud as 2 12" L7's or a DD 9515 INSTALLED CORRECTLY... (probably even if not)

well there is no problem @ all in sealing a XXX 18...unless you dont like disgusting lows.

I would take a DD 9515 over two 12" Type-Rs any day buddy. Plus just like Hot Carl said, there is nothing wrong with a XXX sealed...

well I'm ditchin the DD and Sx idea so of now it's between 2 12" 05 l7's ported, 15" Sonix Fx ported, or 2 12" DB drives ported all getting 2000+ rms
