I am having trouble deciding between getting Cerwin Vega V-Max 65's or Phoenix Gold RSD's. I have read good things on both but I couldn't find anything with people comparing the two. So which do ya'll think would be a better choice? And if it helps I would be powering them with a Kenwood KAC-8403 amp.

and i heard the cerwin vegas can be "coaxial" if you wanted to be...i have not heard them so i cannot comment on the sound

but everyone here has the Rsds

The RSD's are the flavor of the month and hard to beat at the price of around $100

Yes, the Cerwin's are convertible comps. There are other convertible comps such as PPI and Image dynamics, Polk SR, to name a few. They are much better than conventional coax/triax speakers.... for one thing, the coaxes' don't have the sophisticated crossovers the comps come with... and most coax/triax have frequency deviations... that problem has been addressed with the above mentioned convertible comps.

Is there a 3-way speaker that is comparable in price and quality to the Cerwin's?
I don't like any of the 3-way passives that are out there now, tuning a 3-way setup takes time and relying on a passive crossover to do that in every vehicle and setup is too big of a crapshoot for me.
