Can't decide. JL C5 650 or ID CXS64 v.2

Both of these sets are around the same price. I can hardly find any reviews on the C5s. The advantage of the C5s is that they're not as big as the Image Dynamics.

I listen to all kinds or music and my setup is a Honda element stealthbox up front under the shift console. So my front stage has no issues with bass, except the box is tuned rather high. That's why I don't know if the IDs will mix right since I hear their midbass is killer. I can also get a pair of JL XR650 CSI and XR650CXI for 200 shipped.

I'd audition these but the shops around here don't have any on demo.

Oh my amp has 100 x 4 rms.

The JL are overpriced & the ID need alot of power to sound good. I suggest a nice set of funky pups, they are excellent SQ speakers. You won't regret it bro.

I bought a 500/1v2 for $100, which is a steal. 99% of the users on here buy used & JL makes some great equipment.

Nice thanks for the quick replies. BEsides over priced are the C5s any good? They're on sale right now and they're actually cheaper than the IDs. So you guys are ruling out the XR comps and coax at 200 shipped? They are still new in the box.

Spoke with matt from ID and he said 100 rms is fine for the CXS64s.

Congrats. Most will never find a deal like that on a JL.

ID also makes great equipment at a fraction of the cost and keeps right up with JL. Take for example the 12W7. WAY over priced. You can get 2-3 subs from DC, SA, or FI for the price and have better SQ and output. Take the HD900/5 up against the ID5800. $7-$800 for the 900/5, $420 for the ID5800 and SQ just as good if not better again for a fraction of the cost.

I would run the id's. They have stronger mids and their tweeters are much better. The jl's have a pretty bright tweeter.

My next setup will actually consist of a pair of 2 ohm cx mids per door paired up with my id ultra full body horns

see them all the time. & I won't argue about the subs, I hate JL subs. But the slash & slash v2amps are built like tanks & are very nice. You can find 1000/1's for $300-$350 all day. That's cheap for an amp that does 1kw at any impendance/voltage & can take a beating.

Was talking to don about some rainbow slc 265s but it's the holiday so I'll have to wait till next week.

Argh need to make up my mind soon.
