I just got a 60gb ipod video and realized that itunes doesnt support ripping or dvd's onto the ipod, so i was wondering what i can do to get my dvd's onto my ipod. I know you can buy QuickTime PRO to do it but i know that there must be a way to do it free......all tips are welcome

thanks

Use some Bearshare program to download a DVD ripping program that will rip them to your hard drive. then download a PSP Video formating program (forgot what its called) to convert the video to Mpeg4 and the right screen size.

My buddy does that, but i forgot the names of the soft ware, sorry. Id try google to find out the software names, then just search it in bearshare.

Edit: or just try and Download the program sugested above^

I use one of my Windows PC's to do it...

DVD Decrypter to rip DVD to hard drive, DVD Shrink with preference "split into 1gb chunks" unchecked to make one vob file, and then something called Videora iPod video or something to convert the vob file to an iPod video compatible file.

I ripped a few DVDs to my 60gb iPod video, EVERYONE is impressed with the quality.

ic...well the thing is that the computer that the ipod is connected to a laptop,, and im on a desktop, so could i burn the program that i download to a dvd and install it on a the laptop. or just burn it to a cd?

I dont see why it wouldnt work...you would put it on a CD and just install it like you would any other program...why dont you just put the iPod on the desktop though?
