Cancelation ?

I have a BMW which has the fold down arm rest which has a pass through to the trunk for ski's. I would like to install my sub (10" JL 10w6v2) facing into the cabin. Set up this way will have the effect of cancelation, however I was going to build a wall (3/4"MDF) which would drop down from the rear deck. This wall would be sealed around the edges and have dynamat applied to the inside (the part facing the cabin). Will this work or will I still get cancelation? Any other suggestions would be fine too.
