Can users hack the KD-G820 yet?

While I like (not LOVE) my JVC KD-G820, I'd really like to make it my object of affection (so - to - speak).

My desires would be to hack the firmware using some common editing tool, something I could understand, and thus get rid of MP3 support in the head unit.

Yup, no MP3. OGG and FLAC are my preferred formats. I'd venture that FLAC would be WAY beyond the capabilities of this units microprocessor, but it already supports SOME encodings of OGG, so I'd flesh out the units OGG capabilities to as full as it can support and call it even.

And more - the stupid developers forced it to use the same intensity and the same color for day and night operation, they only allow changing from positive to negative display when the cars instrument panel lights come on. That has to go.... I want bright positive seafoam in the day, and dim negative amber at night.

Anyone know of any tools that can hack this head unit via the units' USB input?? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
