In the immediate future, i plan to run 2 sets of RE RE components, active, off a Pioner Premier PRS-X720 and PRS-X320, running mids and tweets respectively. I can get the HPF for the mids from the amp, but will need a LPF point at around 4.5k(not sure where this point needs to be?). I will also need a HPF point there also for the tweets. The filters on the amp only go to 220hz i think.

So my question is, for those who have experience, can the 9833 do this effectively for me? I have a hard time keeping everything straight in my head when trying to decipher the manual, so i need your help please. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps

Don't think so brad, I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a 3-way xover internal. Look into something like a Coustic XM6, they're pretty cheap...3-way xover. I just sold mine for $65 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

But, I'm not sure about the RE tweets...but I'd bandpass the Mids like 80Hz to 2kHz/3kHz. And then the tweets from 2kHz/3kHz on up! Later...

only reason i mentioned 4.5k is i saw David mention it somewhere on the RE forum @ SIN. as far as the HPF point goes for the mids, gonna have to do some experimenting...with the previous install, if i ran the subs up to 80, it sounded like trash - thinking it was some kind of vehicle resonance, but i haven't messed with it much since the wall went in.

also, the HU has a dipswitch type thing on the case that says "F/R Sub" and "3 Way" which gives me hope that it will do what i need, but i'm not sure.

i'd looked at the XM-6 in the past when planning other endeavours. almost snagged an Arc MX-3 for like $35ish from ebay, but i got too drunk Friday night, and it slipped my mind. missed the winning bid by a few dollars //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Yeah, in all honesty...I'd only go up to 60ish on my subs...that's how mine are now. Hopefully I'll be down next weekend, and have my NEW active xover set up. If not, you can hear the XXX6.5's in my custom glassed door pods on passives //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

EDIT: I'll try to look into it to confirm it, but I had a 9835...didn't see anything about a 3-way xover...but that's prolly b/c I wasn't even interested in it at the time. Try it...might work //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

the re's can be crossed anywhere from 2-5khz depending on power, their passives are around 2500hz....that's w/ the recommended 60 watts, what dave was talking about was if you have say...100watts going to them, then you'll need to raise the crossover point or the tweeter will start to get nasty breakup....say around 4-4.5khz, i ran my RE's active @ 100watts crossed at 4khz and not a problem
