Starter wire?

I'm not sure if people are confused here. I'm talking about my power wire for my amp. The 12v wire that connects to the battery & amp? lol

its the same thing my new starter wire in my car is knu 0gauge

Oh, my bad. You were like the 2nd person to mention starter wire. I wasn't sure if I didn't explain myself good enough.

'Oxygen free' wire is suppose to not corrode internally, but Ive seen it happen. Most often, it corrodes at the ends where the jacket has been stripped to connect to the batt and/or amp. This corrosion expands the wire diameter, allowing oxygen to seep deeper up the cable, which allows the corrosion to go deeper. If the corrosion isn't too severe yet, many times you can just cut off the end of the cable and it will be fine, but Ive seen some wire that was corroded almost all the way from one end to the other.

I replaced my starter wire with 4 gauge Kicker Hyperflex.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Edit: I also had some Audiopipe 1/0 that corroded in a similar way to my starter wire and factory grounds! It showed the same issue of high resistance and reduced voltage measured through the wire.

I got the wires a week or 2 ago, hooked everything up and everything works fine now. I guess that was the problem after all.
