Can it be done?

I want to lower my Durango (2000 4.7 v8) but was told it is bad to do with 4 x4. Then I heard that you can do something to the springs to lower it a couple of inches (3-5).

What can be done.... and list prices.

Ive looked around at many of different ranges... but help a guy out who is an amature in this sorta feild.

im guessing the durango has the leaf springs above the axle, so you adding blocks will only raise it. Lowering the rear is the easy and less costly of the 2.

Youre gonna have to get a flip kit (most-likely some different shackles)..you simply relocate the axle to the top of the springs and reverse the u-bolts lowering it ~-6-7"s and form there you add the shackles to raise it up again to the desired height...

the front is a different story, if you dont get a explaination or help by tomorrow, ill look around.

i dont think a 4x4 is gonna have coil spings up front...could be wrong though

The Rams use a coil spring suspension up front so i figured Dodge used the same suspension on the Durango

instead of bashing people ecko, try being friendly and accepting advice even if you dont want it. because you did post in a public thread.

personally, i would never lower an SUV, much less own one (unless it was a SPL vehicle). i just cant justify it.

to each his own i suppose.
