Can I save my hdc3?

Copper coils will take just as much as Aluminum. Aluminums just lighter.
If you can't get a reading on the coils they're shot. I'll take a vid in am of the subs in my car right now. They are shot, spiders are ripped right out of them. They still bang but you can hear the rub even though you can't feel it.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I disagree.. The alum handles much more power. The actual coil has more mass, which gives it a cooling advantage. I've done the drop in tests, and no doubt the alum coil handles much more power.

you have to pull the speaker leads from the amp....the amp will give you a fluctuation in ohm load....only way to tell is to disconnect those leads then test them....DUH:rolleyes:
a test at the amp will and should give the right reading too, atleast it will tell you what is goin on. I have done it b4. Takin the sub out in a few hours
