Can I get away with this for 1500 watts?

Currently have 4 gauge going from my YT battery to my amp behind the rearseats putting out 1200watts.

Just bought a treo 750.1 that I'll run between 1000 to 1500. Probably 1500 at the most eventually after my mag breaks in.

Really don't feel like running 0 gauge all the way from the battery, but I did just recently run a 0 gauge ground for it.

Will I still be ok with the 4 gauge?

If I add another fuse before the amp, what rating should I use?

best advice you're going to get.
I am lazy and cheap btw.

I don't see how that is good advice at all. It's not based on fact.

I'd like to know if 4 gauge can handle the wattage. What are the limits of 4 gauge?

And if I'm to attempt this, what rating fuse right before the amp should I use?

From all the shit alot of us has tore up from being cheap and wanting to hear our shit with what we have an not being able to stand the wait... It is very good advice..

Just tell us you are cheap and will not take our advice and you want the fuse rating, rather than tell us our advice sucks.

I know I SHOULD run 0 gauge, but yes I am lazy.

Your opinion could be correct, but I have no way of telling if it's based on fact. I'm just looking for some links to wire gauge limits. Or someone to type something like 4 gauge has a 130amp current limitation with equals XXX watts yada yada yada.

Still haven't seen a reply like that.

Here is something better:

This table shows the amount of current flow which will cause a 1/2 volt (0.50) drop in a 15 foot run of cable. Many people consider 1/2 volt to be the maximum acceptable voltage loss in a system's main power wire. This chart is a bit de-rated, so you may "fudge" a bit and still get acceptable results.

The 'total amp power' A.K.A. total RMS power output of all of the amplifiers combined. It is based on 60% efficiency and a battery voltage of 13.8 volts.

wire: current flow: total amp power: RMS power

0 awg 334 amps 2763 watts

1 awg 265 amps 2193 watts

2 awg 210 amps 1740 watts

3 awg 167 amps 1381 watts

4 awg 132 amps 1096 watts

5 awg 105 amps 870 watts

6 awg 83.4 amps 690 watts

7 awg 66.2 amps 548 watts

8 awg 52.5 amps 435 watts

9 awg 41.7 amps 375 watts

10 awg 33.1 amps 273 watts

11 awg 26.3 amps 217 watts

12 awg 20.84 amps 172 watts

13 awg 16.54 amps 137 watts

14 awg 13.13 amps 109 watts

15 awg 10.42 amps 86 watts

16 awg 8.27 amps 69 watts

17 awg 6.56 amps 54 watts

18 awg 5.21 amps 43 watts

19 awg 4.13 amps 34 watts

20 awg 3.28 amps 27 watts

21 awg 2.60 amps 21 watts

does it have 4g inputs ??? if so then u'll be fine with 4g...

dont know much abt the 750.1 but the 800.1 calls for 4g power wire and 90 amps of fusing... good luck and hope this helps...
