can i get 12's under my seat?

the current system in my truck is crap i was 16 when i bought it and now ive decided its time to upgrade. i drive a 2000 gmc sierra extended cab and i dont really want to give up that back seat. i found some alpine type-r 12's for a decent price but now im not sure if i can get a box built that will allow the 7 3/4" mounting death under the seat. does anyone know if they will fit? should i go to 10in type-r or should i just try to find another type of sub. im open to any suggestions but i do want to stay around 1000 rms thanks

12's? Honestly, without a seat riser of some sort - no.

10's - Yes.

I'd go for two 10's ported, downfiring , custom box. That's just me.

get some fi ssd 10s or some Qs possibly ( though i am not sure if you could find a newer pair of them for that )

You can fit 2 12"'s under the seat downfiring is your best bet. subthump.com does nice work you might wanna check them out..

alright so i guess 12's are pretty much ruled out also a guy from work says he has a 1250 rms planet audio amp...im not sure the model or anything i know its a few years old but does planet audio have a good rep on amps?

You should have around 6" of mounting depth to work with, IIRC. There are plenty of subwoofers that would fit well underneath them.

One major problem you'll have is that you're just not going to have enough room to have a ported enclosure, which limits your sub choice.

I recommend the Stereo Integrity 12" Mag; shallow mounting depth, small (1 cubic foot sealed) enclosure, excellent efficiency (you don't need a ton of power). They will be ready in ~ a month, and will be $250 each.

Everyone offering advise needs to realized he's only going to have ~1 cube per sub GROSS to work with; and that ported is just about out of the question.
