can i do this?

If you had two dual 2ohm/coil (2Ω+2Ω) Type S's you could connect them both to the amplifier, and they would each receive around 200w.

I would not use that amplifier w/ two dual 4ohm/coil (4Ω+4Ω) as then each subwoofer would only receive around 100w.

If you wanted to use a single Type R, go with the dual 4ohm/coil version (4Ω+4Ω).

thanx do you think it would sound better with 1 type s or 2? with that amp

and how can i tell if the type s is 2 channel or 4 ? i dont have the box for it

type s are cheap subs,, and an alpine type R needs alot of power
They're better than they once were, they're rated @ 300rms now adays when the older R's were rated @ the same.

the newer R's are 500rms, middle class.

Both lines have excellent SQ, not enough thump for me.

With the alpine 450, i'd run one type s ported. great match. i like to run an additional 1/3 more rms power than recommended, for when you want to crank it up.

thanx guys

ya i dont need to much bump right now even tho id love it im only 16 so im looken to get a job and some money first then get sumthing nice but this will be fine for now

i have a closed box i got for free withthe type s with 2 holes for subs but i only have 1 type S so i think i might buy a ported box for it l8er on is it worth it?
