im lookin to pick up a 5 or 6 channel amp to run my front stage along with two 8's but i also have a mono amp that i would like to dasiy chain the sub rca's from the 6ch to it ??

is this possible , in my head it seems possible

the deck i have is an Alpine 9887 if that means anything . . . any ideas, i wanna keep my set up as simple as possible

thanks

Do you mean strap? Or just daisy chain? If you mean strap, meaning combining 2 amps to act as 1, you cannot do it with different amps. But if you actually mean to just daisy chain, meaning to have the signal pass from one amp to another, then yeah, you'll be fine since all it's doing is passing along a pre-amplified signal.

Are you planning on using the 8's as subs? Or midbasses ? If you're planning on running them as subs, you should forget that idea. Mixing and matching different sizes of subs to play within the same frequency range is detrimental to sound quality.

And I'm assuming that since you have a 9887, you're planning on running an active system. I hope you know it's only 3-way capable (2way front and sub), not 4-way.

yea i ment daisy chaining them , not strapping them ! and i was thinking of running then as subs but than again since u said that i'll forget bout that . . . the idea was , getting a q-form hidden enclosure that would hold two 8's (cvr's) under the back seat of my 02 tundra and run them off a 5/6 channel amp with my mids and highs then also run my 12'' alpine type x with my 1500 hifonics brtus amp . . . . and yeaa i knew the alpine way 3 way, thats y i had this idea . . . . . guess not, considering what you said . . . run the 12 and thats it , but with the multi channel amp what if i do up the set up and only runn the 8's when the 12 is out of the truck . . would it matter to the amp having the front stage running and not have the sub channel used? come to think of it . . . might b kind of a pain in the *** to change out tho

Well, here's the thing. You never want to have 2 different speakers playing within the same frequency range. It's ok if it's identical speakers, like a pair of identical tweeters, 4 identical mids, or 10 identical subs. But when you start having 2 different speakers playing the same thing, you will have two different colors on the sound, which is NOT what you want.

If I were you, I would just use a 4-channel amp to play your tweeters and midwoofers, then have a separate monoblock amp for your Type-X. Since you are have a 9887 and you can run a 3-way active setup (tweets, mids, subwoofer), your best bet is to do just that - only run one pair of tweeters, a pair of mids up front, and a subwoofer in the back.

sounds good thats what i will do than !! cheaper in the long run too thanks , oh and your personal opinion what type of box do you think would b the best box for the X ?? i want loud so im getting a ported box at 1.3 cubes tuned to 32hz would i be good with that ?

Well, if you wanted loud the type-x wasn't exactly the best choice. It's more of an SQ woofer, but with enough power, it can get fairly loud. I'd say for a single 12" Type-x, about 2cu.ft after displacement tuned to 32hz would be nice...

yea loud is what i want and love , and its gonna b getting 1100 rms all day

i'll do the 1.3 cube box for now ,then do a 2 cub box lata ? cause i have read here and other spots that 2 cubes is close to freeair and the alpine are good in a box at 1.5 cubes but than again i heard seal is perfect for it yada yada yada no str8 answers whats its perfect in im just gonna have to test and see myself
