can I buy a beater car and install MORE speakers? (absolute noob--help)

before I ask, let me say I know next-to-nothing about installing car audio or anything, so please bear with me and help me out. I was going to buy a nice new lexus w/14 speakers and great system, but recently lost my job. still need a new car eventually, and I'm wondering--can I buy a p.o.s. (like a 10 year old caddy or something) and install however many speakers I want? or do I have to work off the car's pre existing speaker installation? for example, if I buy an old camry, I'll probably have 4-6 speaker locations to work with, but COULD I fit 10 or so great speakers around that? is it also possible to have a great system without one of those subwoofers the size of my body (maybe a smaller one)? I'd rather drive a metal garbage can with great speakers than anything else where i'd have to sacrifice audio quality.

good lord, I was gonna buy a $40k car and now am just looking to spend $20k or less. I didn't say I was broke. nor do I want to sound broke ***. so, basically, thru your harsh condemnation of my wanting to put in more speakers (and ice cream man references) I'm gathering it wouldn't work. is there no solution then, for having a great system without buying a car that already has a great system?

this car had only 5 speakers ...it sounds very good on music and can get very loud as well....in car audio you'll find out sometimes less is better...

If you would look around....speakers can go anywhere....just a matter of how bad you want them in that spot. Hell you can put em in your headrests so they are close to your ears. Then you won't need to amp them, cause they will be loud.
