can DCONs get decently loud?

Before everyone recommends what to get, what is the size limitations of your enclosure? We can use that and figure and average net volume you would have to work with. This would allow you to get what ever will work better in the limited space you have.

thinking about replacing my sa-12 with two DCON 10's. lets say i put them in a ported box ~1.9 cubic feet after displacement and threw 1000 watts at them. would they be able to get loudish and low? also would they be able to take that power? i'd be careful with the gain of course

If you are smart with the gain, and put them in a proper/well done box they should be fine. Dcon's prefer the smaller ported enclosures. But keep in mind, they are a 2" coil and we rate them at 300rms for a reason, so in no way am I promoting more then ratted power, just being smart with what ever power is applied.

I put 600 rms daily on mine and it was perfectly fine with it, but then again I didn't go for spl

yea, the 8's will be your best bet, especially in the small trunk, in that small of an enclosure the 10's will get very peaky very quickly.
how would the vvx 8's compare to sa 8 v2s? in both loudness and ability to get low. only reason why i'd like 10s is because they should be able to get lower easier and i feel like there wouldn't be much of a difference with 2 8's compared to my 1 12 right now in around the same size box and off the same power
I used to have a 2000 mustang same car as his 03. I had 2 re se 10's that box took my entire trunk basically if I remember it was 3.0ft^3
yeah it's a tiny trunk and i can't really take up the whole trunk i think most i can do is around 2 cubic feet net

yeah i'd be smart with the gain of course. i feel like you would probably know best out of anyone else for this question but would they be able to get loud/low in a smaller enclosure? they'd probably be getting around a cubic foot each and i'd tune them around 30 hz and i'm really interested in getting these subs they look nice
