Can anyone help me w/ static in subwoofers

Please help me...."or if you cant maybe you have a idea?"

I have a problem w/ a subwoofers in my crx... I hear music w/ static... I've tried everything possibly i know

- check (+) (-) hook-ups

-battery cable, RCA

-for pinching in cables

I've been work on this crap all day.......

any ideas?

p.s. " and for terms like "insulation jacketing is compromised intermittenly"....messing w/system and devices isn't my major...

It could be any number of things. Bad RCAs not providing a solid connection at the head unit and/or at the amp's inputs.

It could be an internal malfunction in the amp.

It could be incorrect crossover settings.

It could be something wrong with the head unit.

It could be that a speaker wire got pinched somewhere and the insulation jacketing is compromised intermittently touching metal somewhere?

That's a pretty vague problem that could be heaps of different things or a combination of several.

 
i had static on my sub amp a while ago. i re-grounded it and the problem went away. My new ground was only 6" from the original, but it fixed it.
