Can an overheating amp have anything to do with a bad ground?

Just to be sure i thought i'd ask.

On another forum someone has an overheating amp. I say it is due to improper wiring or gain settings. Another person is *POSITIVE* it is because of a bad ground.

From what i've read a bad ground would not cause overheating..

it was overheating. it has somthing to do with a power drop when the ground isnt done right, i read about it when it happened.

What do you guys say?

Yes sir that can lead to overheating, a bad/insuffcient ground

Also however improper wiring (running to small of an ohm load) can also cause overheating.

Normally it is caused by a low impedance on the amp. Some amps are known to just get toasty Over heating as in going in to protect mode?

Thats what I asked the person said "it is overheating"

Most Of The Time It Would Go Into Protect With A Poor Ground.

from what i understand it is form the voltage starting to drop since the ground will not make a good contact, so wiht less voltage it requires more current and then create heat.
