can the viper 1200.1 push TWO 12" idMAX subs good? or should i go with more wattage when pushing two of them. i ask because i plan to just go with ONE 12 inch IDmax first and use it with a viper 1200.1. the thing is, i'm worried that one day i will want to add another 12-inch and the viper 1200.1 won't power them good enough. i want to get the most out of the subs and if using a viper 1200.1 with TWO of them won't push them hard enough i think i'll have to settle for a greater amp.. maybe a hifonics 2200 or something..? any suggestions?

from what i have heard IDMAX's are pretty effecient and work well with lower power. again what kind of box? plus to get 1200 rms to 1 you would need a dual 2 ohm one. but if you buy a second one, the pair could only be wired for a 2 ohm load, meaning you wouldn't get 1200 watts to both subs.

i was thinking i could get the dual 4 ohm one. and while using one, i could wire it in parallel for a 2-ohm load. and when i get a second one i could wire them in parallel and then receive a 1 ohm load right??? so i guess i would need a 1-ohm stable amp? i'm not even sure about what type of enclosure. should i go ported with it or sealed? i surely don't want to lose SQ or SPL.. whats the best for the combination??

You are right...if you are getting two of the subwoofers, be sure to get the Dual 4 ohms to get a 1 ohm load. The viper 1200 is a great amp. You might consider porting them at around 28 Hz, because you are somewhat underpowering them, but they are still pretty efficient. This would give you decent SQ, and get pretty loud. You should have the recommended eclosure sizes to do this.

nailed it. if u want an SQL setup, port it tuned to around 28-30hz. the MAXes are pretty efficient, heck i was happy with it when i only gave it 300wrms. i'm giving it about 600wrms now since i want a more SQL system, but i wouldnt mind having 2 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
