Can a sub surround be fixed? Non CA question -

A buddy of mine has some Infinity 3-way home speakers and the 10" subs have disintegrated around the rubber surrounds. I have no experience whatsoever at repairing speakers and I'm wondering if it's possible and / or practical to replace the surrounds and what would be involved. And if it's something a DIY'er should attempt.

The speakers were very high end and expensive back in their time, but that was almost 20 years ago.

Appreciate any insights.
