Can $250 = 150db?

A friend of mine has a full size blazer and is looking to hit 150dbz on the dash. He has a 5 cube box that he had two Orion xtr pros in and is pushing 3000watts. He is looking to spend $250 for a sub; I think its a long shot, but what suggestions do you guys have?

a pair of type-R 12's on 3kw in a GOOD box MIGHT get you a 150 on a burp. they perform best in 4-5cu ft.

for daily/music 150, no way.

Ben Hemp, with SINGLE Type-r 15" on a sundown 3k. with street 1 fusing (less than 80 amp fuse) did a 152 IIRC at MECA finals in 2008

Probably not gonna happen in a full size blazer with that budget...but should be able to get close with 2 Type R 12's as mentioned or maybe 2 decent fifteens. In either case it'll take a good box and some testing to make it happen.

Considering the sub is not the deciding factor in the score, most definitely.

$250 for a total budget would be more of a challenge...IIRC, there was a good build log a couple years ago on SIN on putting together a complete vehicle that would do a 150 legal for $500 total //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The vehicle is the problem in this case...but I'm sure it can be done with some work and most importantly testing.

He has an audiopipe 3000watt amp, which is in great shape he just need a sub.

How the hell did he burp a 3kw amp on an 80A fuse? Unless it only burped for like 1/2s before the fuse blew...

Fuses dont blow instantly, works fine for burps, wouldnt play a song though

Id go for some AQ 10's or 12's if you can swing it. Would love that AP 3k and probly hit 150 fairly easy

i wouldnt say fairly easily,unless your talking in the kick,,still probly gonna need alot of testing
