Can 2 IDQ 12v2 for $300 be beat for the money?

I would like to spend less than $300 so what would be the next best thing?

looking for 2 12s or a 15 or 18

i really cant think of any examples other than these 2

2 12" ssa dcons go for $250 total, would there be a huge difference in SQ or output?

18" FI SSD, i know it would lack the output vs 2 IDQs but for $230 would it be somewhat close in output considering ur saving almost $100?

I'm assuming the ssd would have a little more output than 2 idq 12's. More cone area and I'm pretty sure the ssd is A louder sub in general. It won't sound as good as the idq's though

The SSa will have a little more output but it is not going to compete in the SQ. I would without a doubt go with the IDQ but as you can see I kinda like them already.

Well i figured the IDQs have better SQ but would it be worth paying the extra $70 to have less output and get better SQ.

Like dont get me wrong my polks are SQ, they dont get too loud, but i love the SQ. But im not going to complain cuz they were not $150 a peice.

Will the SSD sound bad, have bad SQ, or not be very musical for heavy metal?

u think the 2 SSa's will have more output? for $50 less thing the SQ be bad?

SQ is almost totally based on frequency response which is based on your box, the idea that one sub will inherently sound much better than another is a fallacy in some ways. If used within their limits most subs can be made to sound VERY similar. The biggest things to look for IMO is getting the target frequency response you want in a box you can fit as well as overall ouput levels. I'd do the single 18 and save the money. If you want to do a vented design, but still get a pretty even frequency response a AV15 might be something worth looking into as well.

All i can do is make a good solid sealed box for the sub(s).

But u cant tell me that say a sundown sub is going to sound better than an image dynamics sub, just because i build a great box for it.

or that a sub not really designed to have good sq, such as a kicker solo baric, if put in a good sealed box is going to sound good.

For me, its impossible for me to know, hey the dc lvl 3 has good SQ, while getting loud, but FI's SSD is mostly just for getting loud and wont sound horrible, but if i want good sq i should go with the dc lvl 3.

but if the FI SSD 18" and dc lvl 3 15" both are going to have good SQ, then my question is just, compared to my polk 10s, will the 15" have a little bit more output, and the 18" be quite a bit more output? then i would know hey the 15" will be good enough for me. Or will the 15" not really have noticeably more output than the 2 10s, so i need the 18".

these are questions i dont know the answers to and i ask, but not with much help.

FI SSD 15" $200

FI SSD 18" $230

DC lvl 3 15" $200

anyone? other suggestions?

the FI SSD 18" will get loudest but will it maintain good SQ in a well built sealed box taking 870watts rms?

the dc lvl 3 15" has more xmax but rated at less rms than the FI SSD 15", which will outperform which as far as output? both be good sq in good sealed box? would send the dc lvl 3 15" 870 tho its rated at 600, would that ruin its SQ?

Dude, I tried to help you. I spoke to you for days about subs. It went nowhere because you keep asking hypothetical questions.

Once again. There are a dozen different subwoofers that'll sound good. Many of them will also get loud. These "a pair of sub xxxx vs a single sub yyy questions" will never get anywhere...

I dont understand what is wrong with asking which sub should i spend the $200 on.

If both the FI SSD 15 and dc lvl 3 15 will get louder and have similar SQ, then ill just buy the one thats prettier.

Ya we talked about it for days, but all i remember u telling me is buy this 100$ mb quart.

i know both will get pretty loud, i just dont want to end up with some crappy SQ like my old fosgates. Maybe all of the brands like dc, tc, dd, fi, etc etc all have way better SQ than Rockford fosgate. thats fine, but no one tells me this and without experiencing it how am i supposed to know?

if u cant come here and ask of these 3 subs what will be the better if properly installed, then whats the point in coming here and asking? ill just pick the pretty one and get a crappy sub cuz no one wanted to help
