Camp DC Maxx Begins

Well today I got the entier shell done 2 layers except for the roof which is 3 layers and the floor is still only one. Didn't have my helper today he decided he wanted to play and ride his bike //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif After I got done went in the pool for about an hour to relax. Building in this heat is killing me.

and this is what happens when you have to cut and build in your garage with your car in there because you live in a association and the ***** across the street likes to complain about you working in the driveway.

The front 2x4's are screwed down to the floor of the car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The floor is bowing because its screwed to the 2x4's underneath. There is a gap between the 2x4's and the mdf and I screwed a little to far in. Once the steel cable goes in there it should be alright.

I got some more work done today. I got the ports cut and the first layer of my baffle cut. I had first made the baffle one piece which took a long *** time laying everything out. So after cutting the baffle out, the hole for the port, and the sub holes I decided I would put in the ports.

Cutting the ports was no easy task either since both the top and bottom of my box slopes. After a little bit of math and engineering I finally got them where I wanted them which should make tuning around 35htz.

Well after installing the ports I tried to test fit the baffle once again to make sure everything lined up and whatya know it wont go in //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif So now instead of a one piece baffle it will be in 2 pieces.

On to the pics.

Tommorow I hope to get some resin on the inside of the box to help smooth everything out and sterngthen it up a bit. Im also gonna try to get some holes drilled for the threaded rod and maybe try to cut the second baffle.

Well it was assholes and elbows today. I did the first coat of resin in the car because I had plenty of other stuff to accomplish after.

After the resin was done I decided I would cut my second baffle pieces. After realizing I had run out of wood it was off to the depot.

So after an hour at the depotit was back to work.

Atfer the baffles were cut I decided to tackle the trunk and try to get that organized. Made a template for the trunk floor then I cut it out of 3/4 MDF. Realizing I needed to have access to the lil spare tire I cut it in half so I could pull one piece out and access my tire.

I drilled 3 holes in the back of the bard by where the batteries are going so I could bring my wire up into the trunk. Fortunately I was able to reuse the piece of stock carpet that came out.

Well after that was done I figured hell I might as well get the wire ready for the batts. So I broke out the torch and the soldier and soldiered all my ring temrinals onto the wire. I couldn't get my wife to help so there are a couple pics of a quick little jig I made to help hold the wire while I was soldiering.

Enough rambling and onto the pics.

Well it has been a couple days since I have updated although I have been working.

Lets just say the subs are mounted and

THEM *****ES SLAM //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I dont have a meter or cam so I cant post numbers or vbids but I do know my peak is to low. If I were to venture a guess I would say low to mid 30's which is what I expected.

I **** at fiberglass so I cut trim panels that dont seal all the wqay so I still need to figure out what to do on the sides of the box.

Mid you the finish on the box is only temp til I get my carpet in sometime next month.

Here are the pics.
