Cameras?

What will you be photographing? Are you looking to invest more in the future? Is this for business use or a hobby? All cameras now have high resolution, but what other features would you like?

Well I know all cameras are all hi-res now, but I am looking to just take some nice pictures of scenery, maybe mess around a little with the color and stuff. But I am very new to this, so I don't even know where to begin. Just looking for a little input on some nice cameras. I guess I'll spend some time researching more on this topic......

Well, first you have to decide whether you wouild want a point-n-shoot or an SLR. Is this going to be a hobby/profession? Do you want something simple and easy to use?

Well, you can get into the hobby cheap with a point and shoot with manual controls, I think the Canon a590is has a fairly wide lens that can zoom somewhat as well. Any point and shoot you won't really be able so use ISO's above 200 because of noise, but for $150 you can get a start and begin working on composition and be able to take neat macro shots.

Once you move onto SLR's, you will spend more on lenses than you do on the camera itself. You can learn about the basics on any camera, and then once you feel comfortable, you should then move up to a different camera.

For a good point and shoot under 200 dollars, I love my Panasonic Lumix 8.0mp camera. It takes better pics than my SLR Sony Cybershot that was over a grand because of the lens, which is hard to beat. And to be fair is older, like 6 years old and only 5mp, but the lens is tits on it. Lens was IIRC 600 dollars. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Also have had to send it back twice for repairs with some internal problems with it. I rarely use it unless I need it for the lens and to get up close pics from afar.

P&S does just fine for everyday use, which speaking of, my wife better not fawking lose it in Texas!

I don't even know what an SLR is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I am looking to just make this a hobby, I have always loved photos but I have never really taken up shooting pics......So I really have no idea about much when it comes to this.
