I have not been into car audio for years, but recently am somewhat bitten by the bug again. I still have a couple amps, a SoundStream Reference 500sx, and a Reference 405. I am planning to buy a pre-fab enclosure from subthump.com, and wanted to get some opinions on which sub to go with.
I have narrowed it down to two choices.
A SoundStream RFW-10 DVC or an OZ Audio ME10 DVC. Both would be DVC 4 ohms, and I plan to run it bridged to the SoundStream Reference 500 at 2ohms. Thus yielding 150 watts per voice coil.
The enclosure I have in mind will allow .6 cubic ft. of air space. The SoundStream speaker calls for .5 sealed, while the OZ Audio calls for .8 sealed. I'm not worried about the SoundStream, but would .6 be to small to take advantage of the OZ Audio sub? Typically a smaller enclosure will allow for a more controlled tight sound, but will it be too small?
Any other suggestions concerning this setup would be greatly appreciated. It's been far too long, about 6 years, since I have done anything in the audio world.
