On Friday September 28 th, 2007 at 2026 hours, the Rochelle Police Department patrol units responded to a report of a fight in progress, in the 300 block of Lincoln Hwy.
Upon arrival two male juvenile victims, 14-years of age, stated they had been approached by two male subjects, who asked them if they had been throwing eggs at passing vehicles. The victims stated they were battered by one or more subjects, as result of them stating they did not know anything about vehicles being egged.
One of the male juvenile victims received minor injuries. The second male juvenile victim lost a tooth as a result of the battery. Neither victim could identify their assailant.
After further investigation, by Rochelle Police Detectives, it was learned, through eyewitness accounts, that Zackery A. Sondgeroth, 18, was the alleged assailant.

On Wednesday October 10 th, Rochelle Detectives obtained an arrest warrant, from the Ogle County State’s Attorney Office, for Aggravated Battery, a Class 3 Felony, for the arrest of Zackery A. Sondgeroth. Bond was set at $10,000.00 with 10% applied.
On Thursday October 11 th, Zackery A. Sondgeroth turned himself in, at the Rochelle Police Department, and posted the required bond. Zackery A. Sondgeroth was released with an Ogle County Court date of October 26 th, 2007.
