So far nobody seems to be impressed with either the ppi Phantom 600.2 or the 900.4 in terms of sound quality. I was hoping there would be some quality sound come out of them since they had 145rms watts and for the other amp,190rms watts at 4 ohm. Is there no class D, 2 channel amp that puts out more than 150 rms watts at 4 ohm. I don't run all my speakers separately. I run through the oldschool alpine spx-f17t crossover.Everything sound quality is the way I like it. I would just like a class D amp that will stay cool when I want to listen at high volumes for 2-3 hours at a time in the hot summer months. Just to run each side of the 3 way front stage I have,it needs a minimum of 200 rms watts. The alpine 3544 heats up quickly since it only delivers 150rms watts per side making the amp work super hard, hence the heating up quickly of it,and also doesn't allow me the extra watts for the dynamic headroom I need. If the PPI phantoms are turning out to be junk. what 2 channel class D amp will put out 300 rms watts into 4 ohms. I havea class AB hifonics zeus VII amp that puts out the 600watts,and I have swapped it into the front stage 3 way,and it's exactly what I need(aka double the power),but my electrical system, even with all the big 3 and everything else won't take it.My system is tuned and installed in oak for most of the speakers, and would simply like to swap out the alpine 3544 class ab,300 rms watt amp for a quality sounding 2 channel amplifier, with the 400-600rms watts at 4 ohm.So thing will stay cool because it is class D,and the extra headroom will also work to keep it cool ,While suppling the extra headroom I need. That's why I was picking the PPI phantoms, because it looked like the ppi 600.2 could be bridged for 300 rms watts per side. If ppi is junk, where do you guys recommend that I get the quality class D amp with the sound quality and 4 ohm power I need. Crown xls amps I run in my home are class D,and with double the headroom, they are dead silent between tracks ,and rival high end home amp sound quality with all the extra watts going to the speakers. That was my original plan to put one of the crown xls amps in ,but I could never find anyone to convert the amp to 12volt without using a loud stupid converter. So I went back to car audio, thinking there must be a high powered class D amp by now that sounded good. Where's my quality sounding class D high power going to come from?
