Calling all Excelon 991 owners.

Have any of you guys had any problems with your decks ? I just sent mine back in the for the second time.

Problems I have ran into to.

1.)Switching sources can cause the deck to lock

2.)Switching sources causes the deck to lock onto the ipod even though it says its playing my cd.

3.)After 5 minutes + of running the deck powers itself off, locks up completely and as either happens sounds like a lazer is going off in my car from star treck.

4.)Carrys more interference and background noise than the 993 that they gave me as a loaner.

After the first time being sent in they said there was nothing wrong with the deck... Have any of you guys running this deck ran into similar issues or other issues ? If so was kenwood able to fix it and has it been reliable since ?

Humm, sounds like you are just one of the few that just got a defective deck. I have the X-990 for a few years with no issues at all. Sorry to hear that. That X-991 is a killer deck.

Have been using the x991 for over 2 years now and had only 1 problem with the deck that was fixed with a firmware update.

Other than that, 0 problems.

how did you copy the update to your usb drive,I'm confused.
