To me a heavyweight is someone who has a literal and usable knowledge of advanced EE, topologies, and theoretical design.
IOW - someone who has spent more time with FEA then an RTA.

Most of the major "somebodies" post over there....

But, I like to learn more about speaker implementation than speaker design. I doubt I'll ever design a speaker from ground up in my life.....but I use them on a daily basis. FEA won't tell you how to obtain a proper image in your vehicle, or the best locations to obtain the widest soundstage, or what frequencies affect which parts of tonality and imaging/staging, etc etc. Granted knowing the generalities of speaker design will allow you to better choose your speakers and optimize their enclosure enviornment, which is why I don't totally ignore it.......but overall, implementation is where it's at //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

And yes, CAF works for me now.

Yes Yes Carsound is teh win. I just dont like the vB software, hence why I generally dont cruise there as often.

As far as that imaging babble-di-gook...

If You understand that 1+1=2, then You are much better prepared to crack the mathmatical mysteries then if You simply look at something like:

MAPreq = Wa [lb/min] * R [639.6] * (460 + IAT) / VE * RPM/2 * CiD

then try to plug & play.

Carsound's traffic is weak now. Pre 2005, RC would post a crap load. Carsound is turning into another CAF now. Once in awhile, you get an intelligent reply. You're starting to see X vs. Y sub and "what can i do to hi 155db"
