i have recently bought a 2000 cadillac sls. and since i have some old alpine type r's laying around. why not put them in the car.

it has a stock 10 in the rear deck. sounds alright but not enough bass for me.

here is the problem. from what i have read on a cadillac forums all the speakers are run off an amp. including the sub. and to get an input signal for my hifonics amp i have. i was told to take the wires from the sub and run into a live level reducer.

my question is im not sure if it would be safe to run an amped signal into my hifonics amp. anyone have any input?

hmm my 98 deville has a amp in the trunk behind the back seat to power the rear deck and the fronts. i just wired up a new headunit and just put the rca cables from the head unit output to the amp. i didnt mess with any of the wiring on the amp that came with the car.
