check the voice coils. i know when i burned up mine, they unraveled and there was a tinny, crackling sound.

are your power wire and RCAs ran on the same side of the car?

shouldnt your SN be 'PinoywitCackle'?

ditto about burnt coils... RCAs ran with the power wire will cause a whine...

not too familiar with the DD product, but subs that run multiple spiders on top of one another (ie: RE MT, ABass HD, etc.) if they rip or come loose they can rub together and produce a scratchy sound...

or...if you happened to over extend the driver the coil can try and "jump" over the pole piece or bottom out on the bottom plate and crumple with will also give a scrubbing sound

well i cant see the coils on these subs otherwise i woulda checked that already, and how would having power wire and rca's ran on the same side cause this cause it didnt happen to the subs i had in there before?

someitmes if your power wire and RCAs are touching, or even close, they may pick up noise from the engine and carry it into the sub. which makes an odd sounding noise. like said above, its more of a whine, idk if thats what your hearing.

hmm no whining going on. sounds more like 2 metal pieces or something like it hitting eachother like a cackling sound and it makes it everytime the bass hits and the more the cone excursions the louder it gets

sounds like your bottoming out the sub. if the box is sealed, check for leaks. make sure your power and grounds are the same size.

ive had subs make a pop noise from both those things.

box might be wrong for the sub?

its not the box because the other sub works perfectly fine in it and its ported. cant be bottoming out because it makes the sound at pretty low volume unless it has something to do with bottoming out like the cone is loose or a coil inside is loose...
