Bypassing plastation 2 transformer

Does anyone know how to bypass the playstation 2 power transformer? Someone was saying that is has a clean 11.8v or something after the transformer? Right now im running my playstation 2 in my car off a power inverter but the inverter is creating a hum in my speakers.. its a pain in the ***, and it would be nice if i could just connect the playstation 2 direct up to an ingition lead so it starts when i turn on my car.

freind had the same problem, so me moved his power inverter from behind the dash to under the seat on the side that he ran the power line to the amp. problem fixed. but in your case, im not sure of the setup so im not sure

Na man i have the same problem my power inverter is right behind my tv basically so yeah..

So i should move it to the trunk area?
