bxi1606d vs. EGA1400D

A friend of mine just got 2 12" r's and wants to buy my amp (hifonics bxi1606.) So, searching for another amp, i found a soundstream ega1400D. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with tha soundstream. well i've never had the hifoncs,but the ega1400d is good. Many are disappointed bythe fact that its now made by power acoustic, but its still a good amp. Its great at 1ohm (was stronger than my kicker kx1200.1 for sure). No heat, protectect mode , nothing. My only knock is that the remote gain is not very good, but no big deal.

If the ega1400d is anything like the 900d then i would definitely go with the Ega.
