edit:

read last post new question..

I know the tutorial up above shows us "rookies of tuning" how to go about tuning your amp, but I just figured it'd be easier if I could post a pic of the amp's settings and you could tell me what to tune it at.

My system consist of everything in my signature.. as far as more information on each component that is necessary...

amp: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_3546.html#

subs: http://answers.shopping.com/xPF-Kicker_Kicker_S12L54_12_DVC_SOLOBARIC (but both my subs are Dual 4 Ohms)

box: 4 sq. ft tuned at 33hz

Also how do I correctly check my ohms through a multimeter, I'm pretty sure I've seen it done before but tell me if I'm wrong so I can sound like a jackass... lol

Set the gain to the lowest voltage setting for that setup. Set the Phase to 180 degrees. Adjust the Low pass filer to the highest frequency setting. Subsonic set to the lowest number. Bass EQ should be at 18. Then crank the head unit it will handle it and be loud.

JK. Set the Subsonic to about the 1 o clock position. Then adjust the bass EQ to zero. Then adjust the low pass to about 70-75 and youre guess is as good as mine with that dial. Get a meter and some test tones if you really want to know. II Set it by ear once its setup, they will start to sound like crap at a certian point. Phase is the same doesnt really matter and its often hard to hear an audible difference in the switch unless you have components and are trying to match them at 70hz and up. The LEVEL of course is the most important adjustment.

Your gonna have to use the SEARCH tool for that man. Figure out what you want to give them for RMS and use a meter. Search for gain setting tutorial. Good Luck.

PS That box is way too small. Look into getting a much larger one. What year L5's are they>?

Thanks alot bro, the subs are 2002s.... and hey and do you know how to check the ohms with a multimeter...I did the wiring over a year ago and its all bridged inside the box so I cannot recall how its setup.. and I bet its wrong.. bout to wire it to 1 Ohm.. little confused on the wiring setup to go from 2 dual 4ohm subs to 1ohm...

I plan on making a bigger box as well..

So i got my gain setup thru a dmm.. my bass eq is at 0db now.. and i set my gains with it at 0... so i turn it up does that defeat the whole matter?
