buying used subs, anything i should check for?

i saw some cheap image dynamics id8v.3 d2 on craigslist and i am about to go check them out. the seller say he doesnt know anything about them but is willing to let me check out the subs. is there anything in particular i should look for? i have access to a dmm and an amp also.

test them with the dmm and amp. can't hide a blown sub.
