Buying used has been a hassle lately

Generally have really good success buying and selling electronics. The last week has been meh.

Bought an amp on eBay and all of the sudden dude has medical issues and it will be almost a week before he ships.

Bought a Kenwood head unit buy it now on eBay and ... Guy with 240 rating says he accidentally set buy it now and meant to do auction.. And that was 2 hours ago and I have no refund yet, but he's been sending me messages.

But on the plus side, a friend hooked me up with a boatload of 3oz, 1.5oz fiberglass and resin and hardener, buckets, the works for $20. Literally a boatload because he does boat restoration.

Oh the struggles of us cheapos.

Ebay has been really hit or miss. Most times if it's too good to be true it is, but what can you do except buy stuff and hope they ship it. Have bought a old Punch 45 for 30 shipped and a JL 300/4 for 75 shipped. Both seller contacted me and said they fucked up their listing. Oh well, it was worth a shot.

As far as seller who says wait a week I try to give people the benefit of the doubt for a week and if no update ask for refund nicely. After three days I open a case with eBay. **** happens and I know last summer when my father was in ICUl for several weeks I was only able to ship once maybe twice a week, so I understand family emergencies can throw a wrench in plans and try to give them some wiggle room.

I have had great results, and try to be a good guy to deal with, hence my 12 positive feedback. Pending on a trade for a monster amp right now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

As for the fiberglass resin, I have 10 gallons sitting in my garage right now. Was going to glass everything in my car tomorrow, but may wait to do that because I have to ship things and build a new amp rack

Its been real hit or miss for me this last year as well. I buy/sell a couple/few amps a week generally. I have had good luck on here so far, no issues at all. I have had a few sellers on ebay try and scam me, but have managed to come out on top. FB and CL is another issue though. I have not had good luck much this year buying.... been screwed a couple times .... it all seems to work out in the end though ... selling has went very well though ...

Ive been burned before PayPal had the protection program that was worth a chit..Lost a few Off Ebay..Got scammed on here a couple times..Most over all have been pretty good..DIYMA does well, only couple off of there..I havent sold much in couple years..plan on doing some pretty soon,as Ive made my mind up to let some amps go.I try to keep it a reasonable as possible, and test everything before posting,so that i know that the amp is in working condition, and the buyer/trader gets a good deal.Ive always got some kind of gear.I think my track record has been pretty decent over the years on Ebay, and on here, and couple other sites.I pack everything pretty good as I would ship to myself, and I generally give a 14 day warranty on anything I sale less one shipment and after retesting.I feel like thats fair enough.I keep all my gear in doors in a room out from the heat and bad elements. Some have battle scars, but work great.

Sure beats getting ripped off.

I'm sure some of us can relate. Or car broken into.

Could be just as bad as CA residents being fined for using/wasting water.....we gots plenty of water here!

Kenwood guy says he needs my email to refund the money. That's easily available from the PayPal info. So copy paste his email address (from the paypal transaction), and it bounces back! I'm thinking this is some sort of scam... Oh well.

In addition to ebay, I've also had a hard time getting response from a couple people here and on the CA Classifieds site.

If you're not an upgraded OG member on CACO with lots of posts and itrader feedback, don't expect people to take you seriously.

That's where a lot of the big stuff is bought/sold for high dollar.

The stuff that happens on feedback threads here would not be tolerated over there. Hence, the "Beware of Overclock" thread. BTW, what ever happened with that situation?

Well I may have spoke too soon. Went to test a Zapco C2K 1.0x I bought from ebay last month to complete my install and the **** thing has something wrong with it. Seller had excellent feedback too; granted I'm fairly certain it's a pawn shop. Hopefully I don't end up with a paperweight that isn't worth fixing, but too nice to just throw away. ****.

My Kenwood guy figured out how to issue a refund!

Zapco was my first awesome amp back in like 1993. I was in the lowest wattage power class with a 50wpc amp running stereo+mono at like .5 ohms through a hand built 4way passive crossover. I carved the tweeter pods out of solid wood! Lolza...
