Buying a used car...

Hey guys, my son just turned 17. For some reason the first thing he bought was "Subs" with his cash, but got no car. I tried, but can't get a loan through the bank. He mows yards and is making about 400.00 a month. He found a Grand Prix GTP that he likes, but I can't get the thing for him. My question is, the car he is looking at is financed at 216.00 a month through the private seller and his bank? I doubt the seller will take private payments, you know how that works. But is there anyway of transfering the payment installation to his name. Where he makes the 216. payment a month directly to the bank or his bank, etc. You guys get my drift. Without having to get a loan.

You should try a credit union. No, not the fast cash places or check cashing places the actual ones for workers of a certain region, workplace, or skill.

Yes it is possible.
But you can't afford the liability. The car IS a loan in a sense. Tell your son to save his money and stop blowing his wad on retarded shit.

So could you go into detail about the load being in a sense. I'm not familiar with ever buying a used car. Your saying because the car already has a loan in sense that he can just transfer it to his account or what?

Stupid stuff guys? Get real with your comments. He bought a new bike. I wouldnt call that stupid. Motocross is something are family does.

Insurance, I will cover. I would cover the car to, but think he will have more responsibility with it if he pays for it. As far as taking care of it goes. Not to mention insurance money isn't a problem, the problem was I couldnt get a loan for him.

being in houston you should be able to find a decent starter car for $1000 or less...If he saves his money for the summer he could pay cash for it...I know I found a really nice 240SX for $800 I had a friend selling a pretty nice work car...It was an Escort sedan for $800 ...I bought my CRX for $1000 no rust ran great with cold AC...I bought my Caravan for $1000 it runs like a top...So you see finding a starter vehicle should be in reach....and maybe he can go to something bigger as time permits....

I'm not trying to get him in a smaller car, nore am I trying to get him in a 350 horsepower lt1 either. He has saved up some cash, and has decided on this car. It's totaly up to him. He's paying for it. I hope he wont be out there racing, he was looking for a luxury car with a moonroof and leather.

There is a shot of the car he is looking at. It has 94k miles with his leather. Also has a Clarion head unit, 2-way alarm, intake for gas mileage, and recent tuneup.

The car is 5k, I'm pretty sure he has 2500.00 saved up. Give or take not exactly sure.

I stayed up looking for a nice car for him with a "moonroof and leather" for a decent price. I came across this. Would be a very nice starter car if it had some decent rims aside them work rims. But it is a Millenia S with the nice leather and power moonroof. 1500.00

I'm going to show him this. Then he will have an extra grand or so for gas, and to live off of for a while. What do you guys think of this car?
