I don't mean that Bush will see the same change in popularity that Truman did....just that his popularity will improve quite a bit and he won't be remembered as the worst president ever.

Truman's big advantage is that he made one of the toughest and wisest decisions of the 20th century.

Bush will be remembered more fondly for Iraq, I think. I have little doubt that, in retrospective, people will remember the problems in Iraq before-hand and additional attacks from the region in the future may further cement the idea that there was a need for action there. His administration has made some really bad mistakes, and his policy was largely grounded in anti-intellect, but the War on Terror (his most contentious issue) will be better understood in the future....I mean this from a big-picture standpoint.

He did badly abuse his power as President, though, and the idea of punishing some members of his administration is warranted. I just doubt it will come to fruition because Obama (and most politicians who originally supported Bush and have since turned on him) just want to move on.

I'm hearing grumblings of this in other places too. Please humor me and expand on what criminal activities and prosecutable offenses people are talking about?
