Not to back up audiolife, but as a person familiar with stimulus spending, the definition of a job "saved" is not really clear.
For instance, I could buy a machine that allowed me to fire 10 employees. The machine has a lead time of 6 months. Stimulus money needs to be spent today, thus I cannot buy the machine and do the work. Thus, I can say that stimulus saved 10 employees who are going to be fired anyway when the machine is complete.
I am not certain the number of jobs saved or created...just have minor issues with what counts as a saved job.
