Burp time

They will take a 3kw amp for a burp, especially with box rise.

You will normally meter loudest with some clipping, so the gain could probably be turned up some. Roll up the volume until you quit gaining on the meter, then hit pause. You only need to burp for 3-5 seconds. I've seen a lot of new guys burp for 30seconds straight....

Still looking for amp help, I recall someone once saying about certain Hz hits better in certain cars, how do you find that? Your "peak" or something like that, how much will a DB meter cost me? Just a entry level one to give me a idea of what I'm getting.

I am going to be burping my two SA-12s.
3k?

Suggestions?

Input/tips?

First time going for burp, time to win a local show. ;-)

It all depends on a few things.

Box - tunning, size, port velocity, port area.

Sub effeicency, power handleing

Vehical resonate freq. Most cars peak around 45hz. To some guys tend to built fart boxes tuned to that 45hz freq.

From my personal expereience, the higher my freq is the higher I hit.

Battery Power and Amp power- HAving good solid connections, Big 3, Second battery, will help. Having an amp that can deliver more power than your sub needs, allows some room for clean power.

To find the vehicals peak, you need to do several test tones, sweep tones, on a term lab spl mic. Then you can search for songs that have that note as a primary bass drop. or just use the iasca, usaci, demo test disk.

Adding Deadener, using weather striping foam, silcone, liquid sludge, sealing all cavities that may pool up air and sound.

If you go with more amp ower, then additiona things need to be done.

How do I find my peak? Or is it a big subject and I'm best looking up a book on the subject. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

The only way to know your peak for sure is to borrow a term lab and play around with different frequencies
