burnt power wire?

this means that my alternator isn't producing enough power? or am i tottally off i tried searching and surprisingly couldn't find anything. can someone help me

it means you're wire isn't big enough.

my amp only takes a 4 gauge wire, it's an audioque 1200

there's a 120 fuse in the holder. everything is connected good i have a good ground. the amp is a 1200 audioque.

the wire is exposed and gets hot and it burns?

thats whats happening to mine. if its sealed completely then it shouldnt burn.

Cheap fuse holder.

try changing out to a 200a fuse holder and try some 1/0 wiring from battery to fuse block. 4 ga from block to amp
