Burnt Clutch on Dirtbike....

I have a 2000 Yamaha TTR-125L. I was riding the other day and one of my buddy's golf carts randomly stopped working. Well, i was trying to help tow it back to the house with the bike and burnt the clutch up. There was smoke and then i couldnt get into any gear. I could change gears, but the bike would never actually get into gear.

Anyone know how expensive something like this would be to fix?

I think i am going to try to sell it very soon, but i am trying to figure out whether i should fix the clutch first or not.

look for an ebc clutch there not as expensive as some others but i have had good luck with them

should be less than 100 bucks and they are not hard to install

Yeah, i have done it before, but i tried to get it into 3rd gear and didnt fully release the clutch so i strained it too much, resulting in smoke. I live almost in the city, so no one around me can ride anything, so i have to travel in order to ride with a lot of other people.

Yeah i know, but im about to get rid of it hopefully so i can grab a moped or just straight up save more money for college.

haha i only weigh 145lbs, but its a great beginners trail bike imo. I have taken great care of it besides this towing incident.

i am 170, ride my cousins all the time, haha

it barely gets me up anything but its so much fun to hop on that thing after my 300 2 stroke, you can just whip it around its like a toy lol

odd thing is, i am the one person out of my group of friends that NEVER speeds. i always set my cruise and ride the speed limit... the one time i speed i got going WAY too fast through a neighborhood because i was angry at a female going to see her and ran into a tree.... i learn from all my mistakes and have had to pay quite a bit of money to get back onto track.....

Im not sure, but i think u can just buy the clutch plates, shouldnt be too expensive and easy to change. Why are you trying to pull a golf-kart with a ttr125? lol

i use to have a ttr 125, then i upgraded to a YZ125F, so much more power lmao.
