Drown out from what perspective?
Drown out as in you can't hear what I am playing because yours is so loud?

Drown out from the outside?

Loudest from a block a way?

See, the problem with all this gangsterism is that there is no objectivity to who wins or loses. The above metrics, even if judged by the ear, would provide a measurement to determine winners from losers.

Point taken, but its ultimality up this group of people who enjoy this type of competition. It may seem different to you and me, but if its what they enjoy, then why not let them have their fun?

But who do you do it for, yourself, or the crowd?
If someone needs to spend money on something like that to impress other people, I have no respect for that...at all. Just as stupid as putting huge, oversized wheels on something just to get attention.

For themselves, for the spirit of competition against another...that I can understand.
why they can't do both show and sounds, why do you have to have stock, if that's their choice. Its like someone telling you that your sucks because you have a pool and everyone doesn't. Some people just have big money to spend and that's their pleasure.

How is it a competition if no one knows who won?

If they said they where out there showing off their systems, that would be a completely different matter. Competition implies a winner and a loser.

Indeed. Thanks

Im going to add my two cents here......
I can completely agree with what Jimj just posted, alot of people focus on trying to reproduce a clear sound in there car or truck as they would hear it at a concert, or other platform. I think sound quality in a car is very important period. A lot of the music I listen too, I have done so plenty of times so I know every note, every chime, every high hat, etc....

Personally, thats a lil more important to me at this time in my life, however I can def agree with Deephitters Mag.

There imprompt street comps are very cool to me, reminds me of how it use to be around here years ago. Just the idea of having a system that would completely drown out your competition with both mids and highs and bass. I like Deephitters attitude, hes not trying to force anything on anyone here, just showing a different aspect of the car audio culture. If thats how they do it they part of the way, more power to them.
TY Kind Sir, that's exactly my intentions

Ok, ok...Ill leave your thread...

With one last comment that is...

FAIL!!

p.s. Take your forum link out of your sig. And if you are able to order your magazine off your website you need to take the direct link out of that too.

This is what makes it fun, opinions. Person "A" thinks car "A" won and Person "B" thinks Car "B" won so the word gets out and creates a more demanding atmosphere for the next one. A person in the industry contacted me about this post and said that he couldn't believe that we had this much of a turn out in freezing conditions and they went to world finals, bought a booth and only 50 people showed. It has nothing to do with "gangsterism", I have seen white kids in Long Island doing it up the same way in a 7 eleven parking lot, that's just a racist remark but whatever. Another example: a guy doing SPL, he always wins with a 168 and closest competitor has a 161, what's the point for next time? the guy with a 161 has triple his output to match the 168 and 95% of time they come the same way and same score!

This reminds me of that horrible group of hip-hop dance and cheerleading movies...
Bring it on yo!

You got served!

I can out dance/cheer/bass you...

Put it on a mic on average. Then Ill repsect you. The only respect I'll give you is that you are attempting to keep the hobby alive. However, if you ever pull up next to me with that shit turned up...Ill be knocking on your window.
To do what?

The point and main advantage of a meter is that the other kid now knows what he needs to do to win. Painting his car 5 different colors, talking alot of crap and adding more speakers randomly won't get him there. He has to figure out how to actually make his car that much louder instead of making his car look cool and rely on hype or his "boys" to get him through.

Being a gangster is irrelevant of race. I am sorry you hold such a narrow scope of the word. You were the only one to mention race. And that makes you the racist, not me.

The point for the guy with the 161 is to redesign his setup to achieve better than a 168.

So, under your "organization" if person A is 3 times as loud as person B at T(0), somehow at T(1) he may be equal or louder than person A without any modification to his system?

To do what?
You never know. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

the hype attracts people...that crowd looks to be into it as well

there where you are wrong, I roll solo and taken wins out of my competitors backyard. How am I talking crap? Im not disrespecting no one here, in matter fact I already had a kid in this thread come at me being a keyboard commando. Im just pointing out a different style and it here to stay whether you like or dislike the format.
