bubbles in tint!!!!!

i believe thats all based on the formula one warranty itself , but i know nothing about tint so i cant say for sure. i asked the guy if i got legal 35%tint on the front door windows would i have a warranty on those windows and he said no, that it had to be legal all the way around for it to apply //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
that still sounds odd to me. i think you should call and ask why that is. or ask if you hav eto go back and talk.

maybe its some legal stipulation that he has to add, i dont know, i wouldnt think so, as its not illegal to sell/install, just illegal for you to drive with it. i would seriously ask why it is, because there is absolutly no difference between installing different shades of tint...

edit- the film itself probably doesent have a warranty, because it is a mylar film, it really should be in no danger (within the normal scope of its use) of incurring any damage. they should just warrant the work and install. some shops offer lifetime film damage warrantee, because, when would anyone run into a problem with the film if it was installed correctly in the first place.

Mine HAD bubbles at first, the first week I think... then they all magically dissapeared... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif As for installing anything less than 35% on my front driver's and passanger windows he said he wouldnt do it... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

i pulled this directly fromt the formula one website http://www.formulaone.com/. i see nothing about has to be legal tint. maybe its implied?

Like everyone else said give it a few days. If they are still there then go back and show the tint guys.

I've had little bubbles go away before, and some not. Ive had my windows tinted like 3 different times on the same car. First 35% up front, then 15% up front. Now it is 5% all the way around. Sometimes bubbles go away, sometimes they don't.

becasue i got the illegal tint the shop never provided me with a receipt....but he said he will warrant the work for lifetime...made me sign some kinda paper that said i'm totall aware that the tint is illegal

Agreed.... the bigger ones went way. The smaller ones [and not many] didnt go away... not very noticable until u get within a foot of the glass...

and if you have leftover bubbles....just push on it with your thumb....they will all magically disappear

they are all actually pretty small but noticeable when up close to the car and they are in like patches of individual small bubbles which makes it even more noticeable

yea he said he wouldnt give me a receipt bc it was illegal. was that to cover his own *** for installing it lol
That's nuts!

I took my car to a dealer here in Huntsville, Al. I talked with the guy putting it on about my options. He took me outside to look at his car (20%) and another (35%). He said they would illegal (below 32% here in Al), but the darker tint costs extra. However, all warranties still apply no matter the tint. Breakdown like this:

139.99 for 35% tint, 2 year warranty.

20.00 extra for lifetime warranty.

20.00 extra for 20% tint.

20.00 for 6" strip on windshield.

I signed no papers saying I knew it was illegal. I got a signed receipt from the owner with my lifetime warranty.

I paid about $215 tax and all. Also, I asked and the owner said the tint warranty goes with the car. Meaning that if I sell the car, whoever buys it can take it there and get the tint re-done if need be.

I asked around on forums alot before buying tint. Came to this conclusion: Anyone not offering lifetime warranty- don't buy from them. If they say they won't warranty illegal tint- Don't buy from them.

You should call around to other local tint shops and ask what they charge and info on warranty with certain tint %'s.

I had a few bubbles for about 2 weeks, but for the most part everything is fine. If it starts to get bad in a few years, I'll take it back in.

he is trying to pull something...

it is NOT illegal to install darker tint than the law allows... it is illegal for you to drive on any PVA with that tint, but the shop is within its legal bounds to stock, sell, and install the tint darker than the law allows...

i would go back there and raise some hell. he has no right revoking your warranty or refusing to give you a receipt. there is probably some stipulation saying that he cant knowingly install darker tint on a vehicle that is to be driven on public streets. but if thats the case, im more than sure he knows not to ask questions...
