WHat would you guys suggest for the best tuning for a BTL 12" sub. Im looking for loud but clear and loud. I was thinking around 40hz but how would i get the sub to not hit lower that about 35hz so i dont break anything

btl's and all Fi audio ****... what you should've gotten was Rockford Fosgate P3 Punch 12" or an L5

I would recommend getting a larger sub with more displacment, a BTL 18" would have no problem beating out lows while tuned to 40hz, my MT 18" kicked out lows while tuned to 42hz. and so did my TiPro 15" once you have enough displacment the sub will move enough air to the point where it doesn't matter if it's tuned to 40hz... I've done it a few times, but smaller subs won't agree with that. I have a 9510F and it doesn't believe me when I tell her she can play low tuned to 40hz... displacment is key for that imo some people will say you need to tune low, but they probably didn't have the same experiences I did with larger subs...

you need to get more power to that 9500, like more than triple what you have going to it, tune it 5hz lower and build the right box for it. You have it set up like a one note wonder off 700 watts right now lol.... I am sure if you had a 95/99 18 you would think differently of the low end of a DD tuned to 40hz, I doubt that MT in a 10 in a huge box tuned high off 700 watts would have got you much of a crazy low end either....
