Bring alcohol on a plane (checked luggage)

I fly a lot and I've never actually tried to do this but are you allowed to check baggage that has alcohol in it? For example, a 1/5 of vodka inside a bag full of clothes and checked (not as carry on).

Domestic flights, yes. International flights have a limit and must be included on the customs decleration form.

Edit: Oh and you must be 21...duh!

And as far as may you carry it in your checked luggage?

I didn't have any problems bringing my parents back two fifths of Australian wine when I returned from my first trip over there in '01.

I was amazed that the bottles made it intact but that's another story altogether...

i wanted to bring some liquor for my flight to mexico next month - i thought it wasnt possible seeing as you cant even bring water bottles no more. you can actually just bring shit in your carry on no problem?

my friend and I flew from minneapolis to san fran 2 years ago. I was 19 at the time and so we he. we brought 3 1.75 liters of vodka in our checked baggage with no problem. i thought u cant have any liquids as carry on espicially after 9-11. i had a water bottle and they took it away(unopened)
