breaking a lease in CALI. Need some legal advice.

alright look, im not a lazy ****, ive done about 10 hours or so worth of reading and am stuck in limbo about whether or not to say I flat out want out, or start filing complaints. And I came to CA.com because it has a very broad range of people on here who are constantly on or in the THUNDERDOME and gets real time answers not emailing someone on a legal website for them to email me back with a link to a lawyer that I cant afford.

Really????? I know but as I stated earlier, I asked to see if anyone had gone through something similar and someone had and I got some advice from someone who knows whats goin on which was the point of the thread in the first place. so

I would document all reasons(photographs, writing down dates/times you spoke to someone, saving written correspondence from them)and GTFO. Let them spend money to come after you for breaching. Chances are they won't. Just don't expect deposits back.

I am not a lawyer but thats what common sense tells me.

Whats nice about my place was it was a year lease. Been there for 3 years now and only signed for a year.

So if we want out, we can move out today if we wanted.

Well went to the LAHD today to find out what we could do as far as filing complaints and such, turns out our apartment unit is ILLEGAL and we will more than likely be paid to be evicted...................interesting but also nice haha so I dont have to deal with all the legal BS the LAHD is just gonna get us out of there and get paid to do it. How ya like them apples????

we get paid to find a new place. relocation fee from LL not having our apartment up to code plus im sure the LL will eat fees for making it up to code.
