brand new first system plz help

Ok, so i got this idea to get a system in my car, the idea is to do it as inexpensive as possible. I found my older brothers clarion dpx1000.2 amp and all the wiring.... at least I think all the wiring. I also have a box but no sub since the sub has been blown. what do i need to know, what sub(s) should i be looking for, how do i wire the whole set up and any tips that may help.

well im looking for something that will sound half way decent and lets say as cheap as possible... the box i have (from a blown sub i got from my older bro) measures 12 to 13 inches ish i saw a 12" bass enferno sub 1000w at the pawn shop for 50 bucks in box.... semms cheap to me but i dont want something that will break right away.

Just a general rule about car audio, your box should be based around your sub.

i agree, i have a box that looks to have an opening around 13" or so the sub is a 12" that was in it.

he means that you shouldn't worry about the box till you have your sub picked out, unless you have limited space and can only fit a box of a cartain size. Every sub performs best in a certain size or type of enclosure.
